out of curiosity, when you create hair do you use sharp edged erases or do you use a stylus to indent, creating negative marks that will later be revealed by positive marks?

I use 5h pencil to draw harder first...
It's like scratch the paper first then use darker pencils to bring out the negative marks :)
and of course a little bit of eraser :)
If you want to...see the description of this work [link] :D:D

I'm curious to see how others approach hair. I always create my hair by using a sharp edged eraser to cut through a layer of graphite. Once I have accomplished that I gently rub a layer of graphite over those marks to darken them and then cut through again, but only in certain areas. It can be effective but I'm wanting to experiment with other methods. I've never used the indenting technique.

I like the idea of using a harder pencil to indent, you could achieve a lot of depth that way and I'm sure the integrity of the marks are difficult to compromise.

thanks for sharing :D
